The River films in KwaZulu Natal Location, KwaNgcolosi


The River, the multiple award-winning South African telenovela recently filmed scenes in KwaZulu Natal, KwaNgcolosi among other areas. The episode which focuses on the Mokoena family, will be aired today, 28 September 2021 on DSTV’s 1 Magic at 20:00.

Produced by Tshedza Pictures, the River revolves around communities on different sides of a river: society’s upper crust in exquisite mansions who will go to any lengths to maintain their wealth, and the exploited “common folks “who constantly toil with little to show for it. In the episode filmed in KZN, the Mokoena family go on a trip to Pietermaritzburg to visit Paulina’s home for an unveiling. However, the group drive passed Pietermaritzburg and drive straight to Durban, with the misconception that every place is in the Durban City Centre. This leads to various misfortunes which see the family getting arrested, however they ultimately make it to the unveiling.

The cast that featured in the episode includes; the awarding winning Presley Chweneyagae (Cobra), Tsholofelo Matshaba (Kedibone) and Thembinkosi Mthembu (Mabhuto).
