Showmax Introduces Feature Film Directorial Debuts for Goodbye Gogo and Umakoti Wethu

This September, Showmax has exciting new movies on the horizon. Goodbye Gogo and Umakoti Wethu will be streaming on Showmax from the 23rd of September 2021.

GOODBYE GOGO

Goodbye Gogo is a feature film directorial debut of SAFTA-nominated actor Neo Ntlatleng (Zone 14) and Alex Hlabangane, who also DOPs.

Executive produced by Quinton and Minnie Dlamini Jones, who also co-wrote the original story and we are excited to watch !

Starring Thembi Mtshali as Gogo Dlamini, a rich matriarch who wishes to reconcile things with her estranged family before she dies. Hidden Secrets that are uncovered will either bring the family closer or break them apart.

Co- starring Gagasi FM’s Hope Mbhele, The Throne star Keke Mphuti, and Uzalo actor Sizwe Khumbuza, among other fresh faces. We are keen to begin streaming from the 23rd of September 2021 and bring this Heritage Month to a close.

UMAKOTI WETHU

Umakoti Wethu is a feature film directorial debut of the triple threat Nozipho Nkelemba, who starred in The Forgotten Kingdom, directed Gomora and wrote Emoyeni.

Starring Fulu Mugovhani (Ayanda, Happiness Is A Four-Letter Word, Seriously Single star and SAFTA winner) as Khatu, a wife that finds herself in a crisis when her husband’s new job rekindles an old flame. The love triangle Co- starring Melusi Mbele (Isibaya star and SAFTA nominee) as Sizwe, the husband and Kwanele Mthethwa (isiThembiso) as the woman caught in the middle.
