From April 3rd, MTV Base (DStv channel 322) is launching four new hot music and lifestyle shows – fronted by some of the hottest faces in the game: SexyCise, Umswenko, The Come Up and Woza Kleva.
When you find out what’s in store, you will no doubt join us in saying, #ComeDuzeApril!
Everybody’s Monday Man Crush, the swaggy Shelton Forbez fronts SexyCise, which premieres on Monday 3 April at 17:00 CAT. This fresh music format unpacks all the secrets behind some of your favourite celebrity bodies. And just like any successful fitness regimen, these celebs mix up their routines; be it killing a session of boxing, weights at the gym or a sweat-inducing dance class. They will prove that it takes various ways to achieve your dream body – along with sharing some of the tunes that keeps them engaged during their workouts.
The 25-year-old Forbez, real name Shelton Salie makes the perfect host for this show. With a bio that reads like it belongs to three people: singer, dancer, choreographer, model, actor and TV presenter, very few people know better than him about what it takes to stay fresh and ripped.
Still on the topic of looking ever so fresh and so clean, Zulu beauty Nomalanga Shozi, chats with some of Mzansi’s sartorial Kings and Queens on Umswenko and runs the rule of some of their best and worst fashion moments so far. The show premiering on Tuesday 4 April at 17:00 CAT, will also see these stylish celebs introducing some of their favourite fashion-inspired music videos. Thanks to her role as a social media influencer, model, actress and content producer, the charismatic 22-year-old afro goddess hailing from Port Shepstone, KZN, is plugged in to the dopest fashion trends in the country. Umswenko uyawazi!
By Wednesday, viewers will get a glimpse of what it takes for the best in the game to maintain their look and fitness and what it takes to get to the top? Or better yet, how local celebs stay killing the game?
Presenter Loot Love epitomises The Come Up, which premieres on Wednesday 5 April at 17:00 CAT, perfectly. Having broken into the entertainment industry five years ago, when she won a presenter search competition, the Port Elizabeth-born beauty has blossomed into an A-list star and the go-to face in the industry. In this show, she finds out about the rags to riches journey of Mzansi’s big name celebrities and how they achieved stardom. They also talk her through some of the music videos that inspired their come up.
Come Thursday, all we want to do is party! Mojak Lehoko, who has been making us laugh alongside Farieda “Pharoahfi” Metsileng on MTV Base’s NewISH, will present Woza Kleva. The show premieres on Thursday 6 April at 17:00 CAT, and will see the comic pitch celebrities including Nasty C, Dj Cleo and Brickz against non-celebs to find out who really knows their ish when it comes to music and entertainment – all for the privilege of getting their personally selected playlist onto MTV Base.
