A budding actor, iZigizendoda Ndlovu (Zigi) together with his collegues from the acting industry have embarked on a journey to get establish as a force to be reckoned with. This is motivated by many reasons but mainly the scarcity of finding employment as a new actor or actress straight out of university. This group of students from AFDA, The School For The Creative Economy; have decided to take the matter of unemployment within the industry into their own hands and use the methods of self-reliance, and digital content distribution as a tool to equip their careers as well as realize their dreams of telling authentic South Africa stories. As a result, this group of fresh faces from university created LOVE – The Web Series.
The series is based off of personal experience of love as Zigi has seen the functions and dysfunctions of love. Being in multiple relationship relationships in the past 10 years gave him the chance to engage with a different personalities and traits of women. In the series, we follow a couple go through various milestones of a strong relationship and we get to see how they deal with challenging encounters. In addition, we also get to witness how friends influence one each other in relationships, being either positive or negative.
This LOVE story shows the true essence of what happens in relationships and how today’s South African youth deals with challenges in the most realistic manner. The story follows two (2) characters; Angie (portrayed by Nozi Langa) and Sibusiso
(played by Zigi Ndlhovu) who have been in a relationship for four (4) years, and have a lot of history together which has created an almost unbreakable bond between them that is really hard for an outsider or third-party understand. These two have been through a lot together and are determined to see it through. In other parts of the story, the narrative involves other four (4) characters that are friends of the couple, two (2)girls and two (2) guys. During these scenes, the series explores how these charactersinteract in their own gender groups and/or with each other. The other actors featured in the series are Xolani Mayekiso, Hungani Ndlovu and Dimpho Moore.
