The Aesthetica Short Film festival has opened it’s doors to the global film-making community and entries for its 2018 festival run have opened.
ASFF is an annual festival that takes place in York City (UK). The festival has been running for the past seven years attracting filmmakers from South Africa; New Zealand and the US. It was founded by the Aesthetica British arts and culture magazine. The festival launched in 2010 and received its accreditation from BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) in 2014.
For its 2018 run, ASFF calls on both established and aspiring innovative filmmakers who tell both universal and personal stories to submit their work under the following imaginative genres: Advertising, Animation, Artists’ Film, Comedy, Dance, Documentary, Drama, Experimental, Fashion, Music Video, Thriller and VR.
For the first time ever, the festival will be accepting feature film submissions for the 2018 festival
(60 min or over).
All films in the Official Selection are in competition to receive a number of awards. At ASFF 2017, Benjamin Clearly’s short drama film ‘Wave’ scooped the award for ‘Best drama’ and ‘Best of the Fest’. The people’s choice award went to ‘Silent Child’ by Chris Overton who also walked away with the Youth Award.
Come 2018, the spotlight could be on you!
