BET AFRICA ANNOUNCES NEW DAILY DRAMA IN SEPTEMBER

Following the enormous success of Isono, which debuted in 2020, BET Africa is preparing to announce the launch of a new daily drama next month that is sure to cause a stir on Mzansi screens! This will be the channel’s second daily drama and the largest production of the year.

The series has one job and one job only… to capture the imagination of African audiences, inspire and spark conversations about the inner workings of one of Africa’s largest societal influencers. This is guaranteed to happen – thanks to the impressive cast that has been assembled to push the envelope on a relevant and controversial topic affecting many Africans today. It’s a story about the one social group that is the building block of African society, which is family. Audiences will be shocked at the lengths family will go to protect one another in this drama. It promises many relatable conversation-starters for the dinner table and the social media streets.

The much-anticipated daily drama will ignite audiences in heated debates and will feature a wide range of viewpoints. Most importantly, the BET Africa Original Production will deliver content that will resonate with Africans. Crafted by two local, critically acclaimed South African production companies, Seriti and Burnt Onion – who have merged to form Matsimela Films, this production will be the first of their slate and is set to capture the hearts and minds of BET audiences across Africa, with its jaw dropping levels of drama and action-packed narrative.

“We can’t wait for our fans to watch this masterpiece and relish in its originality. It’s an exciting flagship show for BET Africa. We tackle themes of greed, love, betrayal and morality. The storytelling is scintillating, and our audiences will be gripped. Our goal is to ensure that our audiences see themselves reflected in the stories we tell and to use our platform to elevate local storytelling to a global audience. We feel this production really gives people a front row seat to a culture that they might think they know but are only about to discover. Keep watching BET Africa for more details.” says Monde TwalaSenior Vice President of Editorial and General Manager Paramount Africa and Peer Lead, BET International.
